Emotion.

I didn’t fall in love with black and white photography until I acquired the Fujifilm X100. I was never interested, thought it was boring and there wasn’t enough excitement when editing. Somehow, it became all I wanted to focus on whenever I took a picture. Black and white can be portrayed as boring, old, gray, dull, depressing, dark and often not given a second glance. Then, I discovered the beautiful images captured by three of my favorite inspirations: Andre Wagner, Devin Allen and Gordon Parks….and I fell in love. See, black and white conveys emotion and thought. Black and white tells a story and pushes you to focus on the story without the distraction of color. Black and white has depth and complexity. Black and white is what I’ve come to know, enjoy and love.
